Message from the President

Dear Well Wishers,
As most of you would know, I joined The Earth Saviours Foundation as the Vice President in August, 2021. Under the banner of my Father's presidentship, I was eager to learn. I knew I was only 21 years old, I had a lot to learn from my father, and perhaps, if I could fulfil all my responsibilities as the Vice President, maybe in a few years, I would be ready to take over the reigns as the President. However, God Almighty had something else in mind. He only gave me 4 short months to learn from my Father and then took my source of strength away. My Father passed away in December, 2021. The person that was supposed to be the hand that guides me left this world in my hands. Had someone told me a year ago that my journey in sewa, the toughest journey I would embark upon, would begin at the toughest time of my life, I would not believe them.

My father's guidance was supposed to be my biggest resource, but without it, I felt lost. However, I believe that sometimes, when you're in a dark place, you feel like you've been buried, but actually, you've been planted. What he left behind for me was his legacy, his life's work, and his dreams. I will never know if God Almighty or my Father considered me capable to step into his shoes at the age of 22 years old. I will never know if I was capable. But I did know that it was my responsibility to try and even though, there is no education or theoretical lesson that can prepare one to take care of hundreds of family members, have hope.

My father had a quote he would often reminisce over and repeat, "when the going gets tough, the tough get going." I try and take inspiration from this quote everyday.

I try and remember how he would find the slightest ray of hope in the toughest times. A smile on the face of a resident who now has a home, a pat on the back from a well-wisher, a team member that wakes up every morning and devotes the rest of their day to the cause they believe in. I, like my father, find inspiration and motivation in the little things. Sewa, though seems like a beautiful journey, does not promise beautiful sights. What you see and what you face will never come with a guarantee of whether it is a form of kindness or pure cruelty, however it does guarantee that whatever you see is the reality of this world. In my view, that is a privilege not most people are given by God Almighty, to see the world for what it really is. We, as humans, have been given the power to turn mortuaries into flower beds but also flower beds into mortuaries. A parent that raises their children with love and care is abandoned on the roads by the same children, educated people who become mentally disabled become a liability to their loved ones, people on their death beds find themselves awaiting death alone on a hospital bed without their busy families.

When we rescue such people from the streets and give them a home in our shelters, it is not the cruelty that they have faced in their pasts that shocks me, but that they still continue to find a reason to live, grow, and rehabilitate. The 900 abandoned senior olizens, mentally disabled people, and deprived females that live permanently in our shelter homes are not 'less-priveleged." they are "super-priveleged." Despite having been exposed to the cruelty this world has to offer, they are grateful. I learn from their strength and blessings each day. Perhaps my father did not take away the hand that was supposed to guide me, but left eroe such hands to guide me in the right direction. I would like to add the most sincerest thanks for the dedicated team members that work around the clock with myself to ensure that we can provide our selfless services to all those who need it. lis not a matter of question, but a fact, that without their support and the blessings of all those that were by my side during the hardest period of my life, I would not be able to perform the most precious service in God Almighty's eyes - sewa
